Fusion Architecture, APC was formed and incorporated in the fall of 2002 with
offices in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana. The firm was created by the
four individuals that remain the current principals of the company. Each principal
had worked professionally in the Baton Rouge area prior to founding Fusion Architecture,
APC.
Fusion Architecture, APC entered the architectural market in 2002 offering
full architectural services to the public. From the inception of the firm, the
main market focus has been on commercial architectural projects. Although the
firm has completed several residential projects, this main focus continues to
be on commercial architectural projects.
The majority of the projects for the firm through 2003 consisted of educational,
institutional and retail projects. The main source for the educational work
was the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board through various renovation projects.
Institutional projects came in the form of various buildings designed for a
Fireman Training Center for Fire Protection District No. 1 of the West Feliciana
Parish Fire District. Retail projects included the site design and building
design for the Jefferson Village Shopping Center located on Jefferson Highway
in the Bocage area of Baton Rouge. The firm also gained licensure in the State
of Mississippi providing full architectural services.
In 2004, the projects for the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board increased
in scope through larger renovation projects and ultimately a new classroom addition
at the Forest Heights Academy of Excellence. During this year, the firm produced
designs on numerous restaurant projects around the Baton Rouge area. In addition,
the firm secured several health care projects around southeast Louisiana drawing
on the extensive health care experience of three of the firm's principals.
In 2005, Fusion Architecture, APC joined a Joint Venture partnership with Bradley-Blewster
& Associates, AAC to secure architectural services for a new elementary
school for the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board. This project, Capitol Elementary
School, is currently being detailed through this Joint Venture partnership and
will be bidding at the end of 2006. Also in 2005, Fusion Architecture, APC was
retained by Somdal Associates as a consulting architect on the Musculoskeletal
Institute of Louisiana in Shreveport. The firm continued to work on restaurant
projects as well as secured numerous Burger King projects in southeast Louisiana
and the gulf coast of Mississippi. The firm also began providing architectural
services for Iberville Parish.
During the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the firm continued operations from
the Baton Rouge office as the New Orleans office in the Warehouse District of
New Orleans remained closed for several months. During this consolidation period,
the principals made the decision to close the New Orleans office indefinitely
and move all operations to the Baton Rouge location.
In 2006, Fusion Architecture, APC signed a contract with Starbucks Coffee Company
to produce architectural packages for tenant spaces and freestanding locations
throughout the State of Louisiana. The firm has continued to work on the Fireman
Training Center for the West Feliciana Fire District as well as secured architectural
projects for the Pointe Coupee and Ascension Fire Districts.
Fusion Architecture, APC will continue to provide the public with architectural
services throughout the gulf coast region. The firm remains committed to growing
the practice and striving for design excellence. The educational, institutional
and health care markets remain as areas of strong interest for the firm and
its development.
